Gingerbread House

Every year we decorate a gingerbread house. It's becoming a family tradition. I save candy that the kids get all year and don't eat for this one day of candy, icing, gingerbread madness. The kids look forward to it for obvious reasons. Eating as much candy as they can get away with while putting it onto the house. Well, this is Elizabeth's first house that she has been able to participate in. She didn't understand the idea of putting the candy on the house and not all in her mouth. Patrick and I got a kick out of her screaming "CANDY" at the top of her lungs while trying to get as much as she could. She was pretty unhappy most of the time as you will see in the pictures because she wasn't allowed to eat all the candy. I know...I'm such a mean Mom. She did get away with quite a bit though. Especially thanks to Patrick sneaking her some under the table. She did help some though as you will see in the video Patrick took. There is something else that is hilarious on the video however which I didn't see until Patrick told me about it later. You will hear Andrew within the first 15 seconds drop some candy on the floor and state "Yeah, I can eat all the candy that falls on the floor". Then watch what Sarah does next. I am still laughing about it. The rest of the video you can witness Elizabeth melting down over candy and trying to climb on the table to get it. I think it is on this part of the video. If not know that she did indeed climb on the table. Overall it was a nice time, when Elizabeth was content with a piece of candy in her mouth.

Candy actually getting on the house

Elizabeth not so happy about not eating all the candy

Toward the end, Elizabeth thought she would try a new tactic of getting on the floor and trying to reach the candy that way. She still wasn't happy when she couldn't get it that way either.

The finished house, There was enough candy to cover it...wonder where it all went??

The two happy eaters... Elizabeth was still screaming and didn't want to take part in the picture.
