I know, I am late. Andrew's birthday was in May and here is it July. But better late than never I guess. We had Andrew's 6th Birthday at a local park that has a water feature the kids can play in. The theme was Pirate hunt. Rather than gifts Andrew wanted everyone to bring something to put into a care package for a soldier. We got the address from a friend of a soldier in Iraq that hadn't gotten very many care packages. We collected enough stuff to fill 2 boxes. I am sure he will be happy with all the goodies. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.
The kids had a great time playing in the water and having a treasure hunt that resulted in real treasure. The best treasure is giving back to our troops. We appreciate their sacrifice and as a Mom to have her 6 year old son give up his birthday gifts to give back just makes ya proud.
