Fun in a "stream"

So just up our dirt road runs a stream. A stream you ask? Yes, a stream. During the rainy season at least, the other 10 months out of the year it is dry. I believe that it runs right off of the mountain right through our road and onto who knows where, probably into someones house. It was previously undiscovered due to the fact that I never drive down that way. I have been driving down that way 2 times a day though taking Andrew to school and had the idea that it might be fun to play in it this weekend. The water looks clear, and it has to be coming off the mountains, where else would it come from. So we went out and had a grand time playing in it. It was quite cold, but the kids didn't care and got totally soaked, including Elizabeth who cried when we left. We'll be back though...you have to find the fun when you can in the desert.

Look how deep the water is to Andrew.

That is right in the middle of our road.

On a side note, though this is a lot of fun, our road is almost impassable during the monsoons because there is no drainage (see my previous entry about the river through our yard), but we try and make the best of it.
